Grocery Shopping and iPhones

Monday, July 14, 2008

Hadley sat up in the shopping cart like a big girl for the first time this week-end. My mom made this awesome green shopping cart cover with floral trim for us to use. It has pockets for her toys and everything. Of course we still use a bleach wipe to clean everything down before putting her in it. She especially likes helping to pick out sweet potatoes and pears.

And in other news, this photo was taken on DGs new iPhone. Yes, we are taking the plunge and moving our service from Sprint back to AT&T. DG got his phone early and in 2 weeks, when our contract is up, I will be getting one as well so that we can be on the family plan. I had AT&T for years and loved it, but you may recall that when we got married, DG made me switch to Sprint. In my rant, all I wanted to do was for a phone to make calls. Now I will be able to watch movies, listen to my music, play games, surf the internet, and a myriad of other useless things as well. Now I just need to find a new song for my ring tone. Any ideas, anyone? Hello...is this thing on?!?

I'm twittering.

Monday, January 28, 2008

Check me out. DG introduced it to me last summer but I was against it at the time, thinking it was a passing fad. However, I have caved and am trying it out now as it has not just gone the way of cassette tapes. Technically, it is just a real time diary of what I am doing, up to the minute. If you had been online the night I gave birth, DG was giving updates to his twitter from our hospital room.

So just in case you wanted to know exactly when Hadley gets her diaper changed or what I ate for breakfast, I'm here for you. This is a great tool for stalkers too. It shows the mundane yet intimate details of day to day life, like we were cuddled up having a romantic candle light dinner, just you and me.

NEW: I've also opened comments on the blog up to everyone, not just blogger user.

Shhh, Don't Tell on Me

Monday, May 21, 2007

DG recently downloaded a new widget for his desktop, a whoopie cushion. Prepare yourself for high school boy antics and lots of fart jokes. It started the first day where he would spent hours giggling like a frat boy and playing all of the fart noises, everything from squeekers to juicy wet check your underwear sounds. Every night, I'd have to turn up the tv over the whoopie cushion interruption. Then we would be sitting working in quiet and all of a sudden, DG would lift a cheek off the chair and let the whoopie cushion rip, all the while blaming it on the dogs. On my part there was lots of stiffled giggles, indignant eye rolling, and hand slapping. To no avail.

Then last week, there I was needing to let off some steam. I was home all alone, working, the dogs were driving me crazy, so I went and sat at DGs computer, turned the speakers on loud and totally kicked the fart noises up a notch and giggled maniacally by myself. Don't tell DG though, he'll think I'm condoning his bad behavior.

Green is Queen

Friday, March 16, 2007

A few weeks ago, while at the mall, I was dragged into the Apple Store. This is usually preceeded by eye rolls, whining, and foot stomping. On this particular day however, I complied as there was a lovely display of all the new colors of the ipod Shuffle. I stared at DG and said, if you know the woman you married at all, you'll know which color she would choose. His finger shook slightly as he started pointing to the hot pink one, then he quickly changed to green. Ding ding ding, winner winner wiener. It was just a fun little game that was short lived as we left to go do some real shopping. Besides, I already have a 20gig iPod.

Earlier this week, the dogs alerted me to the Fed-Ex guy at the front door with a small package. After signing for it, I opened it thinking it was our new kitchen fan. Then I saw the tiny metallic green goodness. Ooops, was I going to get in trouble for opening DGs mail? Upon closer inspection, there was an inscription on the back: C : my love runs long for you. : D

::sigh:: Could he beeeeeee any cuter? Since I've taken up running to train with DG to do a half marathon the ipod on an armband is apparently too heavy to run 4 miles. The ishuffle on the other hand is light weight and perfect, I just love it. I'm tickled green. Though in the future, when out shopping, I will start pointing at diamond tiaras, fancy cars and cases of snickers bars.

Skype Me!

Sunday, February 04, 2007

Technology is a crazy thing. First we were able to send pages by phone lines, then we were able to transmit photos via a cell phone, and NOW...NOW, we can talk and chat for FREE over the internet.

One of the first things I did when I started at my new company was to download Skype and get a headset. Plugged the headset into the computer and voila I was ready to chat. We make all of our phone calls using Skype. It is totally free to use to contact anyone else who has the program. Now I want to get a webcam for my computer so that I can chat with other people.

DG has the iSight and we have used it to chat with his friends in Massachusetts and just last week my parents. It is so fun to see facial expressions. It keeps communicating easier on so many levels.

Get skype today and add me to your buddy list!
