Raw

Wednesday, May 02, 2007

When we were packing this week-end, DG came out of the garage and the following words actually came out of his mouth: "Awesome, I just found my Eddie Murphy tape". We proceeded to listen to the 1982 comic stylings of Eddie Murphy in the car between all of our errands. We giggled a lot, and our new favorite phrase is singing "Put boogie in your butt, put a freight train in your butt, put an airplane in your butt."

I had never listened to that tape, but I was familiar with his Raw video, in particular the McDonalds skit. Laying in bed that night, I grabbed the laptop and did a search of You Tube for the video. You can see the McDonalds skit here. It is still funny.

The Break Up

Wednesday, April 04, 2007

Recently, DG and I watched The Break Up with Jennifer Aniston and Vince Vaughn. JA is one of those actresses that I want to succeed, yet she continues to play the same exact role in every movie she is in. She can play happy, sad, and even mad, yet she has no depth. The movie was painful to watch and when they did not get back together in the end, I thought that redeemed it a little bit.

During the movie as DG and I were chatting, he started reminiscing about "breaking up". To which I said to him "Yeah, we never had to chance to break up and get back together". DG is convinced we would have broken up had we not been living together. Easy for him to say. I'm convinced he couldn't have lived without me for more than 29 hours. I mean honestly, I gots skillz and mad cuteness and I could have lured him back easy.

Smelly Pirate Hooker

Friday, March 09, 2007

It's been Will Ferrell week here at the Team Gibson house. It started off with Anchorman and then went directly to Talladega Nights. The cast of these movies, along with 40 Year Old Virgin are very similar. Filming those movies, and having that many funny people in a room must make going to work every day difficult on the old cheek muscles.

They each have a laundry list of funny zingers, but my favorite from Anchorman is when Will Ferrell's character is trying to degrade his ex-girlfriend (Christina Applegate) and he calls her a Smelly Pirate Hooker. It's my new favorite term. I plan on using it with abandon to take the place of "no talent ass clown" and now plain old "dirty whore".

Fright Night

Sunday, October 22, 2006

AMC is hosting scary movie week-end and we watched the Fly earlier today and now DG wants to see all the Halloween movies. Unfortunately he left me trapped under 2 dogs and a computer while he has left the room to do something. Oh he just shouted that he's listening from the other room. Could someone please get me the remote? Oh and while you're up maybe a brownie or two.

Little Miss Sunshine - REVIEW

Wednesday, October 18, 2006

DG and I haven't gone to the movies since X-Men 3 came out this summer. Out of the blue I requested date night on Friday. After the movie, the exact words I got were "Thanks for making me go out, that was really good."

The young girl in the movie is phenomenal. She was on Grey's Anatomy a few weeks ago with another Stellar performance as a young girl who could not feel pain and thought she was a super hero.

I'm not going to give a run down except to say that it is Awesome and you should go see it this week-end. I mean it. Get a babysitter. Tivo CSI. Go.
