Rub a Dub Dub

Since losing her crusty umbilical cord several weeks ago, Hadley has graduated from the sponge bath to the tub. The transition was not the smoothest as DG and I may have stressed a bit about how much soap was in the water, followed by whether the temperature of the water was correct, and then of course when was the right time to rinse off the baby, etc. Seriously, for her first bath, I sat reading word for word out of a book going through each step meticulously. It's like following an instruction manual for Baby 1.0. Hopefully this phase will end by the time I have to teach her about the birds and the bees. Maybe I'll be able to just wing it off the top of my head rather than drawing elaborate diagrams and walking her through the bases. Ok who's on first? NOT YOU.

At first, she didn't like bath time, but now the warm water calms her, until she is yanked out at the end, pruny and shivery. But then it all gets better with a big warm fuzzy bunny towel.

When I got four bath towels as gifts, I thought for sure this was excessive. Who needs that many bath towels? Seconds after this picture was taken however, Ms. Hadley pooped in her cute pink fuzzy bunny towel. I think I need to make an addendum to the bath outline.
