Rate the Debates
I get emails from Move On, Colorado Women for Obama, FreePress.net, and MomsRising.org all with information about different election issues. I recently signed up to rate the debates so that people could give their opinions of the debates before the press spun the issues. I am a bit disappointed with this first debate in that both candidates seemed to skirt the questions and instead give their own spin on the topics they wanted to discuss. Obama needs to laugh more and McCain needs to stop giving that creepy smile. And Mr. Lehrer could have done a better job holding candidates to answer the questions he asked and keep McCain in line when he kept talking over Obama. I'm not sure there was a winner here. You can sign up too, click here.

Oooh, I totally agree about McCain's creepy smile {shudder}. And he played his veteran card wayyy too much. Just give it a rest already. And I agree that they both skirted around many questions.
I thought Obama was fantastic and so on the ball. I cheered when he mentioned that we need to change our damaging foreign policies, and when he mentioned the importance of education!

Sorry i can't give a totally informed opinion as baby kept waking up and crying every time Senator Obama was about to speak. So I had to leave the room. (was at a friends house who has a tv didn't want to interrupt with a baby on my lap). I do have to say that Senator McCain did sound a little too similar to President Bush from the other room, very similar mannerisms. The background and lighting was hideous and made Sen. McCain look washed out and Sen. Obama down right scary. I agree that the veteran card was played too much, they already mostly vote republican no matter what. Sen. Obama definately tried to stay with the positive side of things and not point fingers just let's get this ball rolling now that it's all f'd up. can't wait for the next one.
