Real Underwear

Hadley is 2 weeks old today, big girl! I got her strapped into the car seat and drove to the pediatrician in a snow storm. If you know me at all, you also know that I go to great lengths NOT to drive in snow. I will convince people to come pick me up for dinner or just plain not leave my house. It's really the main reason that I got married, so that I never have to drive in the snow again. So it was a bit nerve wracking for me to have to drive with a baby in the car. But now that Dave's car (aka Snowflake) is my car, or the baby limo, I could drive in snow all day. Or about 20 minutes before I really start to sweat.
But the real story today is that I am finally wearing real underwear again. It's one of those things that no one talks about. Ladies, you know what I am refering to: the pain of afterbirth. I have been wearing the stretchy disposable underwear the hospital sent us home with for weeks now. Luckily I am no longer in need of the ice diaper. However, I was afraid of wearing real underwear again. I finally ventured into the boy short and so far it seems to be ok.

Right after Nathan was born, Maryland got a huge snowstorm that dumped almost three feet of snow. I was soooooo thrilled not to have to go to work, but it meant that Dan's parents were practically stranded at the hotel they were staying in. I have a picture of me showing Nathan his first snowball, he wasn't too impressed. I think he may have slept through the encounter.
Three cheers for real underwear!! Being able to wear a real bra again will be the next hurdle. (Do you have any Bravado Bras, I wore those 24/7 for a year.)
HAHAHAAA, I thought I was the only one who wore those nasty Depends maternity underbritches for more than a week! Actually, I just didn't want to ruin any of my pretty panties, but whoa! Depends are really not conducive to feeling like a hot sexy mama! Thanks for the giggle. :-)

I was just thinking that there is a huge lot of things associated with having a baby that most people don't know about. Why all the mystery? It's happening to millions of women every day?
Anyway, congratulations on the real undies! Yaaayyyy! How are you doing with Dave at work?
Saffry: Thanks for the tip on the Bravado underwear, I'll have to look into those. I'm not so happy with the ones I have bought because they are all too big.
BigChunkySoul: I don't know if I can ever go back to the hanky panky panties. Truth be told, I kind of liked the disposable ones! But then again, I still like my maternity jeans.
