Rocking the Last Trimester

Friday, November 16, 2007

Lest you think I've gone and had a baby without telling you, I've decided that I better post a little something every day! So today's installment is answers to the most commonly asked questions I've been getting.

1) How are you feeling? I feel great. I'm sleeping better than I did in the 2nd trimester. I have so much energy, I literally feel like I could be pregnant forever. Though ask me this again if I go a week after my due date and I could be singing a different song.

2) How has the time passed for you? The first 10 weeks went by really slowly. We wanted to tell the whole world we were having a baby, but could not. That and the 24-7 nausea made that time go slow. But since then it has flown!

3) Are you exercising? If you recall, I was training for a triathlon when I got pregnant. I was swimming 1/2 mile, biking, and running 4 miles each 2-3 times a week. This crazy behavior stopped immediately. I continued through the summer to swim twice a week and walk once a week. Since September however, I am only swimming my standard 15 laps (30 minutes) once a week. Just this week, with my mom's daily encouragement, I've gone out for a 1-2 mile walk as well. I think her exact words were "Get your butt out walking and get this baby here".

Also, in case you were wondering, the Christmas shopping is 90% finished and packages have been mailed. DG started putting up Christmas lights last week-end when the weather was nice, though we had to tell the neighbors that we would not turn them on until AFTER Thanksgiving.

And in final news, every week-end when I can sleep until 9am, I revel in the luxury knowing that this will soon be over. And every time I cuddle up with Gibson in bed, and he looks at me as if he is finally in his rightful spot, I treasure our time together and try to tell him that he should also enjoy it now, because soon, laying in bed with mom and dad will be a thing of the past. They have no idea.

Glad that everything is going so swimmingly!! And I don't think you'll necessarily be giving up your in bed til nine routine. We got a lot more sleep when Nathan was under two years old than we do now.

Hi Christy!
I wanted to see if you had had your baby, so I came to your blog. Don't tell Holly!:) I just want to say that despite having 3 kids, Baxter is still king in the house and still in our bed. Enjoy this time of anticipation, it is one of the last luxuries before the busyness of babydom begins. I still recall it with such fondness. Warm thoughts, Sarah K
