My Lovely Lady Bump

Tuesday, May 29, 2007

There's big news here at Team Gibson. DGs been dropping hints in blog posts and two weeks ago he posted pictures on flickr with a blatant clue. Can you find it?

More hints:
I'm not drinking coffee anymore.
I take a nap almost every day.
I am not allowed to paint anything in the new house.
During the move, I wasn't allowed to lift anything heavy.
I'm hungry all the time.
I crave ice cream, glasses of milk, french fries, taco bell and fresh fruit.
I've gained 7lbs.

Yes that's right. Baby Gannon is appoximately 4" long, 12 weeks 4 days old, and due December 9, 2007. I've already started to show. We are thrilled and so glad we can finally share it will all of you.

And though I make no promises, at this point I don't plan on turning the blog into tales of hemerroids, back pain and diaper rash. And no, there will be no video of the birth, or saving of the after birth. Don't be sad, you'll be there every step of the way.

Oh, this is fantastic news!! I promise not to pass on any unwanted advice, you'll get plenty of that from strangers on the street.

Do we get to help you pick out baby names, or is that already decided? I missed DG's flickr hint, although the comment about wanting a Volvo was very suspicious.

The Second Nine Months: A New Mom Tells the Truth about Having a Baby
Philadelphia magazine editor Vicki Glembocki tells the brutally honest and very funny truth of one woman’s transition into motherhood, breaking the silence around what new moms are really thinking and feeling, including just how hard it is to raise that little one. Sure, motherhood can be filled with blissful moments, all those little firsts with your baby. But what about those "other" moments in between? In a "straight talk from your best girlfriend" voice Glembocki shares the unspoken fears, the intensity of emotion and exhaustion, the difficulty of bonding with a demanding new infant, and the pure frustration that can come with motherhood—but that no one ever talks about, lest she be judged a bad mother. In the spirit of Anne Lamott’s Operating Instructions, Glembocki gives new moms a reality check on what to expect, leavened with equal parts compassion and humor.

Ohhhhh, I am just bursting with glee for you two! Yes, you will be the hippest, best parents! Yes, that is one lucky little person! I wish I lived closer so I could see pregnant Christy, expectant Dave, growing bump, and then growing baby!

We have tossed around a few names so far, but nothing that has stuck. We will announce the name on December 9! Or maybe we will have a contest to come up with names.
