My new view

Friday, December 01, 2006

I have officially moved out of the 22nd floor of my downtown office building. I am more relieved that it is over than sad. Yesterday was my first day at home. Like I suspected it consisted of rolling out of bed, making a cappucino, sitting at the computer, working all day, taking a shower at 5:00 pm and then heading to my class.

Though I no longer have downtown views, I am enjoying my new view. My desk faces a back side window to the house that is never seen. It is on a small strip of lawn between our house and the one next door. In front of the window is a shrub that I have never paid attention to. This shrub, in desperate need of a little trim (Cyn I know you want to come whack it) always has different little birds on it. Cute speckled wrens, finch, and...alright, I'll go get out my birdbook.

Hey, get back to work!!

I once had a rose garden outside my window. I had to kneel on my desk, pull back cafe curtains, and crane my neck to see it. But I could see it.

I often had the binoculars on my desk so i could watch the hawk and occasional owl out our back field.

once, when i was five, or maybe seven, i thought I was looking out the window but then i realized i was asleep and the boogeyman was under my bed and then i did this really stupid thing and called out my mom's name in hopes that i could get off the bed where the boogeyman was under and look out my window so maybe i could really see out my window.

---i am so glad you have your new window view.

Telecommuting is awesome. Just make sure you don;t lose your social skills. Seriously. I telecommuted for 2 years with only the cats for company during the day :)

The perfect schedule would be telecommuting 3 days / in the office 2 days...

The birds are only like 4 feet away from me. So I do not need binoculars, yet. And it's only been two days, but I can see how this tied to the computer thing works. Unfortunately, the company is not here in Denver, so I am unable to go into an office. Though I have skype...so anyone can call me at anytime!

Congratulations! I cannot imagine how much work that was for you! And I am glad to hear you are enjoying your new office view!

By the way, what is 'skype'?
