Hob Nobbing with the Socialites

Saturday night DG and I headed out to the Booklovers ball which is a charity fundraiser for the library through the Denver Newpaper Agency. It was a black tie event, with open bars, martini stations, ice sculptures, appetizers and a seated meal in the middle of the library. Our table was in the children's section. Oooh naughty. There were also hired actors going about as characters from Alice in Wonderland. We had our picture taken with the Queen of Hearts and had tea with the MadHatter. It was delightful, the food was amazing, and we had a great time. Though I will say I was not winning any awards for style and fashion. There were people there with full length beaded gowns. I was pulling off my 5 year old little black party dress, but it would have been nice to be a bit more stylish.

We are hoping that one of these pictures taken of us will end up on the society page, so that we can pretend we are SOMEBODY. Shown below we are with our new friend Arlene. As small of a world as it is, I've known Arlene for years in passing because we went to the same gym. Well Arlene happens to be good friends with one of DGs coworkers so we see eachother quite a bit more now. Fun for us!
