The whole Famdamnly is coming

Thursday, June 08, 2006

Well not exactly everyone, but my parents and my aunt are flying in tomorrow morning for my wedding shower on Saturday. I am so excited I could just pee my panties. DGs parents are coming too and we are having a big meet and greet this weekend. Can you believe they are 20 years apart in age?

So tonight is totally task oriented. Purchase food for the masses at Costco and clean the house. Not just pick up and dust the corners like we do for our other guests, like get out the q-tips and bleach and scour clean. Weed the whole garden clean. What is our obsession to still please our parents? Do we feel we are more respectable children for weeding the garden and having a clean home? At 35 why am I still trying to impress them? It is like grade school all over again. Back then it was look at my report card with straight A's, now it's see how cute my family is and have you checked out the immaculate toilet? Will I be 60 doing poop patrol in the back yard so my 80 year old mother can go sniff the rose garden?

Ohhhhhhh... How I wish I could be there at your wedding shower!!!! I am so sorry that I can't be there! And I wanted to send you a card for that day too. Poopie. I hope that you can enjoy your shower and not be thinking about toilet scum or doggie-bombs in the garden. Enjoy your family and friends. I hope everyone behaves!

Yay, have fun with everyone. Hope you get some good loot.

Just imagine how my house is these days with two kids throwing cheerios and toys everywhere. Now remember that my mother-in-law lives 15 minutes away, and even though she would expect chaos, we always clean before she comes over.

I also remember my nana driving my mom crazy by stooping down (with her cane and bad hip) to pull weeds in our yard when she was visiting. It will never end!

Quit complaining about cleaning the joint up. It's something you should do anyway. You and Dave aren't dirty people so unless you want people to think you are, of course you would clean. I'm really happy I'm not there but Yoon Mi is a bit disappointed. We didn't get you guys anything, we'll bring it with us, but I hope you guys get some good booty.

Shew! Glad I am not the only one that cleans like crazy the night before my family comes over but just picks up when it is someone else. LOL

Julie, welcome!

Yes, I believe at 11:30pm we were doing our final wet swiffer of the whole house. And we only have 832 sq. ft.!
