DG got us tickets through work (awesome job perk) to see these guys tonight at the Fillmore. I don't know much about them except that they are from NYC. I heard of them when in a total fluke I had MTV2 for a year. No cable, just the local stations, Home Shopping Network, PBS and MTV2.

ADDENDUM: I just got back from lunch with DG, Erin, and Michael and the drummer from the Yeah Yeah Yeahs was there. Michael recognized him on his way back to the table. I saw the back of his head!

I just heard them on XM before seeing your post. Liked the song enough to see who was singing it, but I can't remember it now. I think my music short-term memory got shorted out in the nineties. I'm incapable of remembering any groups outside of the the grunge standards of my college days. All Dan's fault for sending me mix tape after mix tape after mix tape when he was a college music director.
I as well have lost my link to the pulse of what is hot in the music world. I rely on Dave and his coworker Michael to let me know what I should listen to.
