Me, DG, the tree, and a glass of Bailey's
Friday, December 09, 2005
I made a batch of my new favorite drinks this week for tree trimming night. Bailey's, Godiva chocolate liquor, vodka and a little soy milk to cream it up. Wow, Bailey's on ice is oh so nice. Afterwards we put it in hot chocolate and these were super yummy too.
For the past 9 years, my Aunt has purchased a James Avery ornament for me for Christmas. I've got quite a little collection going. Each one is silver and has not been polished since purchase. I started a couple that night with my new fancy polish cloth, rub rub, but it is quite a task.
Every one of my ornaments have sentimental meaning. When I moved out of the house in 1995, my mom boxed up a selection of ornaments for me ranging from childhood treasures, a cross-stitch race car my brother made, gold angels with my name on them, gold french horns from high school, crocheted angles from my Nana, and loads of handmade ones so that when I got my first tree, I could fill it and start my own traditions. This weekend I will have a fun ornament post.

Oh so pretty.
yes, you need some Haggarty's silver polish. After polishing, (and Christmas) wrap them in the silver cloth and store them in a ziploc bag.... you won't have to polish them next year.
Love the tree, and the drink in hot cocoa sounds awesome. mmmm
Such cute pictures...i am also thinking we should get a tree this year (we decided not to, since we'll be in CA for christmas.
Yours looks so nice!
And I like the decorating the tree hat... (and the Bailey's!)
If you have an Evergreen watering system, you don't need to worry about your tree drying out while you are gone!
We have a number of pictures of us in different hats trimming the tree. Maybe David will post them.
For Cyn, each ornament gets put in it's special anti tarnish bag and put back in its original box at the end of every season.
Is there an anti-cats-knocking-tree-over-while-everyone-is-gone system? :)
